We first did this after CHA this past summer, and it was so much fun. You get to be the first one to see all the cool new stuff that will be coming in the next 6 months to Urban Scrapbooker. Plus, you will be able to put your name on the reserve list for some of the items that we know will be popular (like anything Tim Holtz, of course!). Also, you will get the first peek at the special Spellbinders dies that will be coming out in May and will only be available to certain retailers for 2 months – they are absolutely beautiful! And I’ve got a bunch of giveaways for the evening and spec. While RSVPing is not required, I would greatly appreciate it if you let me know you are coming so I can have some idea of how many to plan for. And if you have a folding chair, you might want to bring it. We were running a little short last time…
Can’t make it by 5:30, no worries. Come when you can… Plus, Scrappy will be videoing the new goodies so even if you aren’t able to make it in, you can check out the fun online.
We are going to be getting a lot of new stuff in the next couple months.

This Saturday and Sunday Last minute Valentine Make-n-Takes. We’ve got 5 beautiful vintage cards to choose from. The classroom tables will be set up by 11:30 Saturday morning and you are free to stop by any time on Saturday and Sunday. We will also have very cool tags for you to choose to make as well! Cards will be $3.50 and tags will be $3. Beautiful and easy cards, just in the nick of time! Kits for all 5 cards are also available in limited quantities…

Contest Kit is now available…
February’s contest kit is available now. This month’s kit features Jubilee from K&Co and is just beautiful! With the kit, you get $15 worth of goodies for only $10. You can choose to participate in the contest if you want, but it isn’t required. Entries will be due the last day of the month. The winner will get a $10 store gift certificate and a free kit for the following month. Also, the entries for last months kit featuring Circa 1934 from Cosmo Cricket are out for voting. Please come check these beautiful entries out. They need your votes!

Teresa’s Valentine Card Class
Tuesday, Febraruy 8th 5:30-7:30 $20 Are you ready for Valentine’s Day? Here is your chance to make a variety of cards from cute to pretty for your loved ones in plenty of time for Valentine’s Day. Using the Cuttlebug machine you will make four cards using emboss folders, “lace” for one background, border punches, glitter, glitz and more. (If you have a Cuttlebug machine please feel free to bring it with you to class. If you have any of the emboss folders we will be using (they are listed on the samples)you can bring them also.
Fast & Fabulous Thursday, February 24 5:30-7:30 $25
It’s BACK! Finally, Fast & Fabulous is back on the schedule. We will make 4 Fabulous layouts in this fast paced and really fun class. This class is an intermediate to advanced level. I’m sure I still have more to tell you, but my brain is drawing a blank at the moment. I’ll send out another newsletter soon, if I think of something important that I forgot.

Greetings from CHA!
It’s CHA time! This time of year is always so fun with manufacturers releasing all their great new products, tools and lines. The trade show actually starts on Friday, but I am down here a couple days early for Craft Mania. You might remember Craft Mania from the summer show, this this one is a little different. Last summer we had 2 full days of vendor presentations of their products. This show only has one day of vendor presentations. But the other day is spent in training with TIM HOLTZ, and that was today!
Follow the Blog! I will be doing live updates over the next five days from CHA. I’ll be asking for opinions, showing you what’s coming, and of course running contests! Subscribe to RSS feed to get email notification when something new is posted to the blog. That way you can be the first to give your opinion or put in your 2 cents worth for the contest… HINT: A contest will be posted in just a few minutes… Tim Holtz Tag techniques We spent the day making 25 tags using this wonderful array of products from Ranger. Guess what – All this stuff is coming back to the store with me!!! Some photos I took from my cell phone are posted on the blog for you to check out, but they really only look about 10% as cool as they really are. The colors are amazing and the techniques are simple. You will have to come check out the tag samper. We will also be having a series of mini classes so you can learn all these great techniques too! Stay tuned for that.
Here’s just some of what we covered:
Contest Kits only 2 left for January! This is going to be a really fun program this year. Contest entries are due Jan 31. Voting will start on Thursday. Do get your entries in soon. You will have a very good chance of winning as there were only 10 kits made. Next months kit will be put together right when I get back, so they will be available on Feb 3. You may reserve your February kit now.
Here’s how this works: At the beginning of the month, a new $10 kit will be available. This kit will feature a hot new line and will include about $15 worth of product. You can make anything you want using mostly what’s in the kit: scrapbook page, cards, mini album, altered art. We will have a vote at the store. You are not required to participate in the contest if buy the kit, but it sure adds to the fun! Happy New Year!
Wow! I can’t believe it’s already January 13! It seems like only yesterday it was the holiday season. Now we are back to life as usual, if there is such a thing…
2011 has already brought some fun changes to Urban Scrapbooker. One of the best new changes is a complete re-organization of the store. The classroom has moved, the albums and clearence sections will be moving, and even the stove, plus we now have aisles. You’ll have to come in and check it out. Even though we still have a bunch of work to do, it already looks really different in here. Inventory Reduction Sale I’m finally (mostly) finished with Inventory. It’s time to start making room for all the new goodies that will be coming soon (it’s CHA time again)! We are having an inventory reduction sale all over the store! There are great discounted items in every section. Come in and check out the deals in travel, Christmas, Halloween and more! Contest Kits are now available! Going Bagless in Edmonds As many of you know, Edmonds is one of the few cities in the country that no longer offers plastic bags. There is a big push in the community for using your re-useable bags. While we still offer paper bags, they are much more expensive because we have to get such large ones to accomodate the 12×12 paper. To help control costs, we encourage you to bring in your re-usable bag or don’t take a bag if you don’t need one. We also have great Urban Scrapbooker re-useable totes that are perfect for 12×12 paper for only $5.
New Products
We R Memory Keepers – Be My Valentine
Great new line for Valentine’s Day! This complete collection has stamps, die cuts, stickers, chipboard, flocked adhesive ribbon, complete designer pads, coordinating cardstock, pre-made page kits, stitched cardstock and great papers. We will be using this line for the kids valentines class this year. Samples are available in the store.
Fancy Pants – Love Birds You have to check out the cutest of cute animals in this line! We have some great kits for making valentines, as well as paper and envelope seals. Love Birds makes making Valentines a piece of cake. Fancy Pants – Hot Chocolate This line arrived just in time for our chilly weather. Plus when you see the cardinal and the penguin, you can’t help but smile! New Stickles Colors are coming! The new colors of stickles arrive soon (I was hoping it was this Friday, but it doesn’t look like they made the ship date). With such yummy colors as Tropical Tangerine, Paprika, Lagoon and Thistle, how can we not be excited??? There are 9 new colors and we’ll be getting them all!!! As a special offer, we will have a limited number of sets of all 9 colors for only $16.99. Email me if you would like to reserve a set. Go Configure! If you’ve been intrigued by Tim Holtz’s new configuration boxes, but haven’t figured out what to do with them yet, check this out!
