first CHA contest (Winter 2011)

If you could ask Tim Holtz anything, what would you ask him? I’ll do my very best to track him down and ask him a question or two on video of course… Thanks to Sizzix for the prize for this contest-the merry christmas texture fades set. Whoo hoo. Bring on the questions!

I don’t know if it’s too late to pipe in here: But here’s my question:

I can always pick out a Tim Holtz product or design. He has a very definite look and level of complexity. His work is beautiful and amazing. So…I was wondering…does he ever get a craving to do something that’s really graphic and with clean lines and bright colors?

  2. Angie says:

I’d like to know if his fingers are perpetually stained with inks, or if he’s got a trick for getting them clean!

  3. Polly says:

Mine is just a fun question since the other questions I had in mind were already taken.

I would like to know if he ever gets grumpy? He always seems so up and always has a smile on his face. :)

Oh, and I also would like to know when he is coming to a store near us to teach a class!!! That would be awesome!!

  4. Linda Adkins says:

Oh I love anything “TIM”. I would like to know what is his most favorite tool. Also more papers coming???

  5. Mary F says:

everyone already has such great questions but other than the last one (how he became interesting in this industry in the first place) I would be curious to know-does he ever sleep? What does he do when the inspiration hits him? How does he figure out how to make it all work togeather? Well….I guess that’s more than one but basically the same theme lol

  6. Victoria N. says:

I’d like to what inspires him the most? Does he ever worry that he’ll run out of ideas?

  7. Debbie says:

I would ask him if his creations just flow naturally or if he has a source of inspiration from which he creates?

  8. Marjan says:

I’d like to know how he got started using tags in the first place. Very interesting surface. Have a great day.

  9. Ami says:

Are Tags his favorite surface to work on?

  10. Colleen says:

    Hi Brooke,
I hope you’re having a great time in LA.

I would like to know if he’s a cat or dog person. ;)

  11. Stacie j says:

I’m curious what he thinks is coming next…what are the next trends?

  12. Kimberly says:

My question is similar to one above: Where does the inspiration come from for the innovative techniques and mediums you put together as one?

  13. Toni says:

This may be a little out there, but I’m curious about what he does for fun when he’s not coming up with amazing designs and innovative techniques for scrapbookers, card makers, and crafters.

  14. Amy Wiskerchen says:

I would like to know what his creative process is: does he scribble down ideas in a journal that he dreams up during the night? does he brainstorm with a team? does he play around with different mediums until it “feels” right? or is he just absolutely brilliant?

  15. Tracy says:

BROOKE — question to you — he he he — when is Tim coming to a store near us. hint hint hint. Would be fabulous.

  16. Tracy says:

I would like to know which is his most favorite product to work with on a daily basis if he could only choose one.

  17. Melinda says:

Which of this year’s trends do you think will stick and become a must-have or must-do of paper crafting?

  18. Ann says:

I would love to know how/why he became interested in the scrapbook industry when it has been such a dominately female place.
