Brooke is in a business training today. One of the speakers has a video camera there and is asking for each scrapbook store’s best scrapping tip, which he will then compile into a video of “Tips from the Best Scrapbook Stores in the Country” (or something like that). So we need your tips! Winner gets a $10 gift certificate and your tip will also be featured not only in this video, but in the next newsletter.
Rules
Tips must be submitted as comments on this blog.
Contest ends at 3 pm Seattle time.
You may submit multiple tips, but you must submit them as separate comments.
Brooke, in her sole discretion, will choose the winner.
Go!

Save your paper scraps in a folder for card making. Then make a bunch so that you have them when you need them.
You all know that Tim Holtz’s craft scrubbie is great for getting ink, paint, and all that other crafty stuff out, but did you know that you can also give it to your do-it-yourself hubby to remove paint, stain, putty, and engine grease.
I find that when my punch is sticky, punching some waxed paper with it helps to unstick it!Also, when it’s getting dull, I punch some aluminum foil, and that fixes the issue!
It looks like the camera will be here tomorrow too! You have more time to submit your tips!
This is completely basic but essential! Always crop photos and round the corners before setting the page layout.
Scrappy, if you have an awesome crafting tip to share, please share it! Thanks Colleen and Colleen! Looks like you guys love your xyron machines!
Everybody else- come on guys! I know you have a bunch of great tips because you tell them to me all the time. It doesn’t have to be anything big, just something you do that works awesome!
Here’s one I got from my store designer, Kim Holmes, that I’ve share with many of you: when covering chipboard with paper, use one of those cheapy little nail files from the drug store to sand down the edges of your paper. The files are easy to manuver in corners and sanding your paper gives a more finished look and helps keep the paper from lifting if you are doing a mini book or something like that…
Back to my training! Ta ta for a few minutes ~Brooke
instead of trying to glue down ribbon on my layouts, I use the Xyron machine…just run the ribbon through it and no muss or fuss! Easy!
When I use my Xyron for my Cricut cuts, I always get extra strings of adhesive around the sides and inside the holes. I used to use a pointy eraser to pick up the “goobers” but now I just peel off the plastic liner sheet and crinkle it into a ball. I dab at the extra adhesive and it picks them right up.
Hooray for contests. Is Scrappy eligible to enter?
